General Director of ALIDI is the Finalist of “Entrepreneur Of The Year”

Peter Demchenkov, General Director of ALIDI Group, a leading Russian distribution and logistics company, became the winner of “Entrepreneur Of The Year”, organized by Ernst & Young. Now he will represent the Russian Federation in the final stage of the contest of the world's best entrepreneurs, that will take place in May 2012 in Monte Carlo.

“Entrepreneur Of The Year” is regarded as the most prestigious and well-known international entrepreneurial contest. The contest identifies entrepreneurs who have made the important contributions to the development of a certain sector of the national economy.

Peter Demchenkov was praised for «applied global thinking: his objective is to reduce the level of logistics cost in the cost of product from current 21% to at least 12% nationwide in Russia, compared to 7% in the U.S.», - says Oleg Khusaenov, member of the judges panel.

In 2011 the application process for the award was effected in 3 stages. At the first stage Peter Demchenkov, Applicant of ALIDI, was interviewed by Dmitrii Babiner, Head of legal and tax department of Ernst & Young. The meeting of participants and independent panel of judges was organized as the second stage. As the result, on October 6, judges selected 34 finalists. Also they determined the list of nominations of 2011, including Transport and Logistics, IT, Services, Industrial business and etc. The international “Entrepreneur Of The Year” Award has been held by Ernst & Young for 23 years. The geography of the contest now covers more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Russia joined the “Entrepreneur Of The Year” contest in 2003.

On 9 June, 2012 Peter Demchenkov will join more than 50 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Country Award winners in Monte Carlo. The winners will be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame and vie for the title of Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012.

By identifying and recognizing the achievements of outstanding entrepreneurs within successful, growing and dynamic businesses, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award aims to encourage entrepreneurial activity around the world and profile role models to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
